Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Olive Bale.
Ramstein Bale and River Matt were quick to begin. Tinker Kim and Willful Bale were slow to begin.
A post-race sample was taken from Xoie Bale - winner of the event.
Stewards interviewed Mr. Ricky Coleman, the trainer of Quimby Bale and Alvarez Bale in relation to the bona fides of their withdrawals from this race. Mr Coleman explained the reasons for the scratchings and offered to present the greyhounds to the Geelong race meeting on Saturday 17 September to verify the injuries. Stewards also requested that the greyhound's treatment records be produced. Mr Coleman could not explain the significant betting fluctuation for Xoie Bale, the winner of the event, who gained a start due to the scratchings of Alvarez Bale and Quimby Bale.
Supplementary Report - 17/9/2022 - Both Quimby Bale and Alvarez Bale were presented at the Geelong race meeting on Saturday 17 September 2022, with the reported injuries that led to the withdrawals being confirmed by the On-Track Veterinarian, as reported.
