Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Spicy Tilly.
Spicy Tilly was quick to begin. Tiggerlong Ruby was slow to begin.
Quest For Luck marred Pest Management approaching the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr B. Klemke regarding Quest For Luck’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Quest For Luck was charged with marring. Mr Klemke pled guilty to the charge, Quest For Luck is suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Spicy Tilly failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a split webbing to the left hind leg. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr D. Kerr regarding Spicy Tilly’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Spicy Tilly was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kerr pled not guilty to the charge, Spicy Tilly was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
