Steward's Report
Gastrocnemius was quick to begin.
Janice Keeping racing manners in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration right hind metatarsal. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. M Lanigan regarding Janice Keeping's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Janice Keeping was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Lanigan pleaded guilty to the charge, Janice Keeping was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Gastrocnemius, the winner of the event.
