Steward's Report

Our Girl Socks was a late scratching at 2:03pm by order of Stewards after it was established that the incorrect greyhound had been presented. At a subsequent inquiry, the Stewards charged David Geall with a breach of GAR 86 for failing to present the correct greyhound to the Stewards for this event. Mr Geall pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $250. The 28 days stand–down on Our Girl Socks was revoked.

A pre-race sample was taken from Frothy's Ponting.

Thai Gem was slow to begin.

Whizbang Gordon faltered on the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left wrist and left shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Frothy's Ponting turned its head to the inside soon after the start and turned its head to the outside approaching the first turn. Frothy's Ponting underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Jack Campbell, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Frothy's Ponting was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Campbell pleaded guilty to the charge, Frothy's Ponting was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
