Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Blackpool May.
Style Key was quick to begin. Concrete Comedy, Guster Bale and Storm Raptor were slow to begin.
Guster Bale underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Mr Grenfell declined the option to have the greyhound re–vetted. Stewards spoke to trainer representative Mr Corey Grenfell regarding Guster Bale’s racing manners shortly after box rise. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Guster Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Grenfell did not enter a plea to the charge, Guster Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Naval Guard – the winner of the event.
