Son Of Pookie was quick to begin. Sisco Gem, Sheer Tenacity, Millie Bale and Rufus Bale were slow to begin. Bowser Boy stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin (4 lengths).
Rufus Bale marred Concrete Comedy in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Correy Grenfell, the Trainer of Rufus Bale regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Rufus Bale was charged with marring. Mr. Grenfell pleaded guilty to the charge, Rufus Bale was suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127 and GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Sisco Gem was galloped on on the first turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
