Quiet Mechanic was quick to begin. Bonnie's Beast and Kouta Marjen were slow to begin.
Bonnie's Beast was slow to begin and faltered soon after the start, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right triangle, thigh and monkey muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
