Trainer Correy Grenfell presented Joliet Bale to the Stewards at Geelong today after the weight recorded at this greyhound's first start at Horsham on 26 April 2022 appeared to be erroneously recorded. As this was Joliet Bale's first start, that matter could only be resolved satisfactorily by checking the greyhound’s actual weight as no history of recorded weights was available. After being identified and weighed on-site, it was clearly established that the weight recorded at the greyhound's first start could not possibly have been correct and it would be entirely unreasonable to not rectify the matter. Under the provisions of GAR 100(1), the Stewards deemed it necessary to make such order that 24.9kg will be officially recorded as the correct weight at Joliet Bale's first start.

Joliet Bale was quick to begin. Shrinking Violet, Electra Glide, Thai Time and Sunisa Bale were slow to begin.

Blackpool Dill was quick to begin. Too Much Trifle and Sunny Love were slow to begin.

Thai Gem and Zipping Bonanza were slow to begin.

Conroy – Late scratching at 10:39am due to the greyhound not being presented in the required kennelling time, pursuant to GAR 86(3)(a). Due to the circumstances surrounding the non–presentation, Trainer Mr. John Barbara was fined $250.00.

Turtle Fernando – Late scratching at 4:57pm when Mrs. Rebecca Gibbons reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Due to a mechanical issue this race was re-scheduled to commence at 1:54pm.

A pre-race sample was taken from Zigzag Cabang.

Sagacious faltered and lost a considerable amount of ground on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right monkey muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Duck Duck Dash – Late scratching at 10:11am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to split webbing.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Due to a mechanical issue this race was re-scheduled to commence at 2:22pm.

Poppy To Burn was quick to begin.

Explosive Yaala was severely checked and fell turning out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right-fore radius/ulna fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

West On Orla – Late scratching at 08:12am when Mrs. Samantha Grenfell reported the greyhound to have kennel cough (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nomination will be accepted.
