Born On Lava was slow to begin. Vesna's Express, Miss Markwell and Razza Bale collided approaching the first turn. Miss Spice and Razza Bale collided approaching the first turn. Born On Lava, Vesna's Express, Miss Markwell, Razza Bale, Newfire Rosie and Lektra Special collided on the first turn checking Razza Bale and severely checking Miss Spice and Hot Wine; Hot Wine raced wide and Newfire Rosie fell as a result. Vesna's Express and Miss Markwell collided approaching the second turn. Razza Bale checked off Lektra Special on the third turn. Vesna's Express and Miss Markwell collided approaching the home turn. Razza Bale faltered approaching the home turn. Miss Spice checked off Razza Bale approaching the home turn. Miss Markwell and Vesna's Express collided entering the home straight causing Miss Markwell to collide with Lektra Special. Miss Spice eased on the home turn and again in the home straight. Miss Spice veered in and marred the running of Razza Bale in the home straight.
Razza Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's right stopper bone. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Miss Spice was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 5, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's left pencil muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Miss Spice with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(6) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Newfire Rosie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's right metatarsal. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
