All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

There were no reportable incidents in the event. 

A post-race sample was taken from Dimora Cruz – the winner of the event.

Zulu Sparrow and Blue Chai Latte were quick to begin.  Kokomo Kid, Menari Hugh and Dimora Flames were slow to begin.

Dimora Flames underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to right hindleg and a left hindleg tibia injuries.  A five day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Raymond Brewer, the trainer of Dimora Flames regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Dimora Flames was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Brewer pleaded guilty to the charge, Dimora Flames was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Shadow Jumper – the winner of the event.

Storm Shelter was slow to begin.

A sample was taken from Kempton Bale upon arrival at the course.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dimora Jet.

Kempton Bale was quick to begin.  Hooded Monkey was slow to begin.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Ronald.

Nimble Sammo was quick to begin.  Riverdale Poppy was slow to begin.

Vans Turbo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race eight.  Vans Turbo was found to have injuries to the left wrist and left back muscle.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Got One Fernando was quick to begin.  Joey Mac and Premier Slice were slow to begin.

Saint Jett underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg chest injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Pat May Joy, which contacted the running rail approaching the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination, and was found to have no apparent injury.

Rock Icon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left sartorius muscle.  A  21 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Formosa, the Trainer of Rock Icon regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Rock Icon was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Rock Icon was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Keybow Sally was quick to begin.  Joe Baker was slow to begin.

Classic Moment was slow to begin.

Chasing Jimmy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hindleg paw.  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to  representative, Mrs Elizabeth Steel regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Chasing Jimmy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs Steel pleaded guilty to the charge, Chasing Jimmy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Riverdale Tommy was slow to begin.

Nyssa's Girl was slow to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Nyssa's Girl – the winner of the event.

Arby's Sally – FTC 11/03/2022 GEL – Field of 4,  Distance 390m, Weight 26.7 kg, Box 6, Placed 4th, Time Run 24:05 - Comment: Not Cleared - Severely Checked.  Failed to meet time standard.

Meeting Comments – Adjourned inquiry Warrnambool 28 March 2022:

Stewards reconvened an inquiry today with Mr Craig Burns after he left "Tinker Blaine" in the kennels following the meeting at Warrnambool on 28 March, 2022.  After taking into consideration all the evidence before them and a submission from Mr Burns, Stewards charged Mr Burns pursuant to GAR86(o) with negligence for leaving the course without "Tinker Blaine" at Warrnambool on 28 March, 2022 and fined him the sum of $250 to be wholly suspended for 12 months pending no further conviction under GAR86(o)
