Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Blaze Of Fire.
King Chad was quick to begin. Dr. Forest and Blackpool Cheeky were slow to begin.
Nova Star and Blaze Of Fire collided soon after the start checking Nova Star. Blaze Of Fire and Big Braveheart collided soon after the start. Aston Knox and Big Braveheart collided on the first turn checking Aston Knox, Big Braveheart and Nova Star. Blaze Of Fire and Blackpool Cheeky raced wide in the home straight. Vinny Dewalt turned its head inwards and marred King Chad several times in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds.
Vinny Dewalt underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hip injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Diane Ireland, the representative of Vinny Dewalt regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Vinny Dewalt was charged with marring. Ms Ireland pleaded guilty to the charge, Vinny Dewalt was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
