Fearful Amy was slow to begin. Superliner checked off Maddi's Wishes soon after the start and stumbled. Wayfarer and Vapour Caper collided soon after the start. Superliner and Rib Eye collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds and causing Superliner to contact the running rail.

Black Salt was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle and a puncture wound to the right inner thigh, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr.L.Mitchell, the trainer of the greyhound Mitch Sparrabush.  Acting under Rule 71 (A) stewards charged Mitch Sparrabush with unreasonable aggression in the catching pen and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to Rule 71 (A) (1) (d) before any future nomination will be accepted.
