B. Moles, Trainer of Gifted Man redeclared a new weight of 30.5 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Gifted Man last raced at 32.4.
A pre race sample was taken from Blue Jager Light.
Captain Cotchie was slow to begin. Keegan's On Fire, Tabby's Tiger, Runaway Ellie, Gifted Man and Battle Flame collided approaching the first turn checking Runaway Ellie, Gifted Man and severely checking Tabby's Tiger. Battle Flame, Taurasi, Captain Cotchie and Blue Jager Light collided on the first turn checking Captain Cotchie and causing Taurasi to fall. Battle Flame and Captain Cotchie collided on the home turn checking Battle Flame.
Taurasi was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right humerous, and was humanely euthanased.
Tabby's Tiger was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left triceps, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
