Rock The Casbolt, Lytton Lass, Platinum Express and Crusher Dust collided soon after the start checking Platinum Express and Crusher Dust. Rock The Casbolt and Lytton Lass collided on the first turn checking Lytton Lass. Platinum Express and Lyttton Lass collided entering the back straight checking Lytton Lass. Rock The Casbolt checked off Moonlight Cruise entering the back straight. Platinum Express galloped on the heels of Rock The Casbolt approaching the second turn. Billy Beergarden eased in the home straight.
Billy Beergarden was vetted and re-vetted following event 5. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs.L. Harrowfield, the handler of the greyhound Billy Beergarden. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Billy Beergarden with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days Bendigo and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
