Courtesy and Mr. Pipeline were slow to begin. Lunchless and Pita Milo collided soon after the start checking Lunchless. Lunchless, Pita Milo and You Can Knocker collided on the first turn checking Far East Girl, You Can Knocker, Courtesy and Mr. Pipeline. Koko Kola appeared to cramp in the home striaght and lost ground. Mr. Pipeline and Koko Kola collided in the home straight. Koko Kola and Courtesy collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Stan Kruckel the trainer of the greyhound Koko Kola. Stewards deemed the performance of Koko Kola unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Koko Kola must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.
