A pre-race sample was taken from Fire Witch.
Fire Witch was quick to begin. Raw Attitude, Zipping Pistol and Take A Rose were slow to begin.
Enid's Angel visibly eased approaching the first turn. Scenic Warrior, Raw Attitude and Crackerjack Noah collided on the first turn. Zipping Pistol and Take A Rose collided on the first turn. Raw Attitude and Scenic Warrior collided approaching the home turn. Take A Rose, Scenic Warrior and Crackerjack Noah collided on the home turn. Enid's Angel, Take A Rose and Scenic Warrior collided entering the home straight. Raw Attitude raced wide in the home straight.
Enid's Angel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left thigh muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. A. King regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Enid's Angel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. King pleaded not guilty to the charge, Enid's Angel was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr King advised that he may retire the greyhound.
Scenic Warrior underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Gatt advised that he may retire the greyhound.
