Narelle Tapp trainer of Broad Betty redeclared a new weight of 27.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39 (2). Broad Betty last raced at 25.8kg.
Claretown Tex went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3.5 lengths).
Hot Carbon crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Tara Gold, Arvo's Joy and Broad Betty. Broad Betty and Arvo's Joy collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Kian's Hybrid, Horsham Myth and Tara Gold collided approaching the home turn checking Horsham Myth. Broad Betty galloped on the heels of Horsham Myth approaching the home turn causing Horsham Myth to stumble as a result. Arvo's Joy and Claretown Tex collided approaching the home turn. Broad Betty eased in the home straight and collided with Horsham Myth checking Horsham Myth which contacted the running rail as a result. Arvo's Joy and Claretown Tex collided in the home straight.
Horsham Myth was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left thigh. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left triceps, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Broad Betty with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
