Smooth Cruiser turned in the boxes and subsequently tailed off.  Deal Striker and Hurricane Max collided approaching the first turn, checking Deal Striker.  Deal Striker checked off Hurricane Max on the home turn.  Hurricane Maggie checked off Manuka Boy on the home turn.  Deal Striker marred Hurricane Max approaching the winning post.

Deal Striker underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg groin injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Ms Lyn Smith, the trainer of Deal Striker regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Deal Striker was charged with marring.  Ms Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Deal Striker was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Smooth Cruiser underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Smooth Cruiser - Turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the race. Placed on a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 52(1), pursuant to GAR 72.

Get Sushi Carol was quick to begin.  Aston Jazz was slow to begin.

Jaycee Bale, Audacious Stell and Hurricane Pat collided approaching the first turn.  Animal Kingdom and Aston Jazz collided approaching the home turn; checking both greyhounds.  Animal Kingdom contacted the running rail approaching the home turn.  Audacious Stell and Hurricane Pat raced wide in the home straight.

Animal Kingdom underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Endurance underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg flexor tendon injury; a 21 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Paul Anderton regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Endurance was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Anderton pleaded guilty to the charge, Endurance was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Aston Marvel crossed in soon after the start and brushed the running rail.  Red Nangana checked off Propelled approaching the first turn.  Rag Time Rove and Three Wishes collided entering the home straight.  Zipping Jazz raced wide in the home straight.

System Issues underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg dislocated toe injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Joe's Entity underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Following  the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.

Meeting Comments:

Hurricane Miss – In accordance with GAR 73, presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Warragul on 4 December 2021.  Hurricane Miss was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be not free from injury.  Hurricane Miss was Not Cleared to race.  A sample was taken from Hurricane Miss in accordance with GAR 79 (1), having presented for the purpose of revoking a stand down period (re-vet).

Persian Goddess – In accordance with GAR 73, presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Sale on 3 December 2021.  Persian Goddess was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be free from injury.  Persian Goddess was Cleared to race.  A sample was taken from Persian Goddess in accordance with GAR 79 (1), having presented for the purpose of revoking a stand down period (re-vet).
