Steward's Report
Crime Thriller – Late scratching at 3.19pm due to weight variation (GAR39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr B. Cook was fined $100.
Good Girl Gracie was quick to begin. Gecko Fernando was slow to begin.
Don't Try Me and Hummock collided soon after the start. Billie's Gift checked off Hummock on the first turn. Billie's Gift visibly eased on the first turn and subsequently pulled up.
Billie's Gift underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 12. Billie's Gift was found to have left foreleg shin soreness and a right hindleg groin injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representaive, Mr Liam Sharp regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Billie's Gift was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Sharp pleaded guilty to the charge. Billie's Gift must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Hummock - the winner of the event.
