Myola Red Boy was quick to begin.
Kokomo Kid and Destini Hallmark were slow to begin.
Myola Red Boy, Al's Wicky and Lubbock Lad collided soon after the start. Myola Red Boy checked off Al's Wicky approaching the first turn. Al's Wicky checked off Kokomo Kid on the first turn checking Al's Wicky which lost ground as a result. Lubbock Lad, Clips and Smoking Sophie collided on the first turn. Myola Red Boy and Kokomo Kid collided several times approaching the home turn causing both greyhounds to race wide. Smoking Sophie checked off Clips in the home straight. Destini Hallmark checked off Lubbock Lad in the home straight.
Al's Wicky underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
