A pre-race sample was taken from Great Question.
Balt's Flying was quick to begin
Great Question, Zipping Wreck, Mad Blast and Pyrenees Pegasus collided soon after the start. Great Question and Zipping Wreck collided approaching the first turn, checking Zipping Wreck. Amron Man, Mad Blast and Pyrenees Pegasus collided approaching the first turn, checking Great Question. Amron Man and Mad Blast collided approaching the home turn. Great Question and Zipping Wreck collided approaching the home turn. In A Blue checked off Kandinsky on the home turn. Great Question marred Kandinsky in the home straight. Mad Blast's muzzle became dislodged during the running of the event.
Great Question underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mrs M Gilders, the trainer of Great Question regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Great Question was charged with marring. Mrs M Gilders pleaded not guilty to the charge, Great Question was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
