Purnia Bale was quick to begin. Hamish Bale was slow to begin. Gar Gar was very slow to begin (4L).
Hamish Bale and Maria Laguerta collided on the first turn checking Maria Laguerta. Dr. Chelsea and Oldrik Bale on the first turn checking Oldrik Bale. Dr. Chelsea raced wide approaching the home turn. Maria Laguerta faulted on the home turn causing Maria Laguerta to be tailed off. Smiley Clancy and Oldrik Bale collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Maria Laguert underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Maria Laguert was found to have a right foreleg mc periostitis and a left foreleg wrist injury and a left foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
