Steward's Report
Black Mintie was slow to begin. Black Mintie and Crouching Tiger collided soon after the start. Black Mintie was checked off Crouching Tiger approaching the first turn. Crouching Tiger visibly eased, crossed out and collided with Zander and Why Not Rose on the first turn. Freckles Brown was checked off Pacific Bar entering the home straight.
Crouching Tiger underwent a post race veterinary and no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. L. Fulford declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L Fulford, the trainer of Crouching Tiger regarding the greyhound‘s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Crouching Tiger was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge, Crouching Tiger was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
