Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Straight Shooter was slow to begin.  Jay Jay Lopez and Jam Jam collided soon after the start.  Jam Jam was checked off Always Diamond on the first turn.  Always Diamond crossed out on the home turn and collided with Sir Come Again.

Keeping Secrets was quick to begin.  Galloping Debbie and Sheila Sazs were slow to begin. Galloping Debbie contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Keeping Secrets was checked off Hange Zoe on the first turn.  Don’t Try Me was checked off Deb’s Wish approaching the home turn. Don’t Try Me, Sheila Sazs and Tower Bell collided on the home turn severely checking Tower Bell.  Keeping Secrets crossed out and raced wide entering the home straight. 

Galloping Debbie underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the left metatarsal.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Mayfair Reign and Our Issues were quick to begin.  Takeshi Fernando was slow to begin.  Takeshi Fernando, Kiss Me Deadly and Little Didak collided approaching the first turn severely checking Kiss Me Deadly.   Kiss Me Deadly brushed the running rail approaching the first turn.  Mayfair Reign, Our Issues and Indigo collided on the first turn checking Mayfair Reign.  Our Issues and Indigo collided on the home turn.  Kenzo Fernando was checked off Mayfair Reign on the home turn.  Kenzo Fernando raced wide in the home straight.

Big Tango, More Issues, Big Flatty and Magical Doll collided approaching the first turn causing More Issues and Big Flatty to lose ground.  More Issues was checked off Magical Doll on the home turn. Big Tango and Big Flatty raced wide in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Bit Of Pepper upon arrival at the course.

Bit Of Pepper - Late scratching at 3.37pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to an injured left front toe.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Moody Girl was quick to begin.  Two Face was slow to begin.  Joyous Promise and Perfect Crippa collided on the first turn.  Love Heart and Joyous Promise collided on the first turn causing Joyous Promise to fall.  Jebrynah Octave was checked off Love Heart on the first turn and again on the home turn.  Perfect Crippa and Two Face collided approaching the winning post.

Joyous Promise underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a distal fractured of the right radius/ulnar.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track on the first turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.

Princess Lace was checked off It’s A Drama approaching the first turn.  Locked And Ready was checked off Bus Driver on the first turn.  Roxy Diva raced wide in the home straight.

Dancing Cassie was quick to begin.  Two Phones and Always Primed collided several times soon after the start.  Miss Somerton was checked off Phil’s My Bro approaching the first turn.  Soda Pee Wee and Dancing Cassie collided on the first turn.  Phil’s My Bro was checked off Two Phones on the home turn.  Soda Pee Wee and Dancing Cassie collided several times from the home turn to entering the home straight.

Dancing Cassie underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 9, no apparent injury was reported.  

Stewards spoke to Mr. E. Lieshout, the trainer of Dancing Cassie regarding the greyhound‘s racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Dancing Cassie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Lieshout pleaded guilty to the charge, Dancing Cassie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Sierra Foxtrot was slow to begin.  Bourne Burner was checked off Aston Sunset approaching the first turn.  Long Black Lass, Ride Along and Sierra Foxtrot collided approaching the second turn.  Sierra Foxtrot and Ride Along raced wide in the back straight and in the home straight.  Bourne Burner and Black Power collided in the home straight.

Sierra Foxtrot underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on the right front foot. No stand down period was imposed.

Eynesbury Flyer was quick to begin.  Zipping Chew was slow to begin.  Lady Wynal galloped on Say You Will approaching the first turn.  Balmoral galloped on Lady Wynal approaching the first turn causing Lady Wynal to fall.

Lady Wynal underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left pencil muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Sweet Suzie - Late scratching at 1.45pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Alfie Solomon was quick to begin. Joyous Venture was slow to begin.  Zumi’s Swagger and Your Embrace collided on the first turn checking Zumi’s Swagger.  Joyous Venture galloped on Zumi’s Swagger on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

Black Mintie was slow to begin.  Black Mintie and Crouching Tiger collided soon after the start.  Black Mintie was checked off Crouching Tiger approaching the first turn.  Crouching Tiger visibly eased, crossed out and collided with Zander and Why Not Rose on the first turn.  Freckles Brown was checked off Pacific Bar entering the home straight.

Crouching Tiger underwent a post race veterinary and no apparent injury was reported.  Trainer Mr. L. Fulford declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L Fulford, the trainer of Crouching Tiger regarding the greyhound‘s racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Crouching Tiger was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge, Crouching Tiger was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
