Steward's Report
Dreaming was quick to begin.
Chanko Girl and Crackerjack Dirt collided soon after the start checking Crackerjack Dirt. Two Up Tommy checked off Chanko Giirl approaching the first turn. Chanko Girl checked off Two Up Tommy on the first turn checking Alpine Blaze and Take A Daisy. Chanko Girl turned its head outwards and collided with High Plain in the home straight. Alpine Blaze, Chanko Girl and High Plain collided approaching the winning post checking all three greyhounds.
Chanko Girl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 9. Chanko Girl was found to have a right thoraco-lumbar injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr J. Tolson regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Chanko Girl was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Tolson pleaded guilty to the charge, Chanko Girl was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Crackerjack Dirt underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms M. Brealey regarding the racing manners of Alpine Blaze approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Ms Brealey, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
