Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dutch Impact.
Ravenna Bale was quick to begin. Reiko Oreo was slow to begin.
Easy Street and Ravenna Bale collided approaching the first turn causing Easy Street to fall checking Phoenix Flight. Dutch Impact checked off Ravenna Bale on the first turn. Reiko Oreo checked off Weblec Scorcher on the first turn. Dutch Impact turned its head inwards in the home straight and visibly eased checking Ravenna Bale. Tinker Yap checked off Blackpool Rex appoaching the winning post.
Dutch Impact underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury - a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. Wayne Kirk regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Upon review of all the footage available, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that Dutch Impact had made muzzle contact with Ravenna Bale on its inside. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Dutch Impact was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Kirk pleaded guilty to the charge and Dutch Impact must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
