Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Parade Steward, Ms. S. Evans did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
Unassuming and Jae's Wheels collided soon after the start. Lily Rose Harper galloped on the heels of Evan's Almighty soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Jae's Wheels checked off Champ Cheese on the first turn. Jae's Wheels checked off Lily Rose Harper approaching the home turn. Champ Cheese checked off Evan's Almighty on the home turn. Champ Cheese and Jae's Wheels collided entering the home straight and again several times in the home straight. Unassuming turned it's head to the inside in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Daniel Boots regarding the racing manners of Jae's Wheels in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Boots, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
Unassuming underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left monkey muscle and left groin. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. David Grindley, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Unassuming was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Grindley pleaded guilty to the charge, Unassuming was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72,
