Northern Dancer was quick to begin. Darley Chilly, Jaraig Pitstop and Northern Dancer collided soon after the start, checking Jaraig Pitstop. Deadly Credits, Darley Chilly and Northern Dancer collided approaching the first turn, checking Darley Chilly and Northern Dancer. Some Nights checked off Plumb Quick on the first turn, checking Manx Pharos and Darley Chilly and causing Northern Dancer to fall. Jaraig Pitstop and Manx Pharos collided approaching the home turn, checking Manx Pharos. Plumb Quik and Deadly Credits collided on the home turn. Deadly Credits raced wide in the home straight.
Northern Dancer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a strained left thigh, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
