Have No Fear was slow to begin. Groover Groover and Orson's Touch collided soon after the start. Black Swamp checked off Kristerin approaching the first turn. Groover Groover and Orson's Touch collided approaching the first turn. Windermere Hope galloped on the heels of Implied Pressure approaching the home turn, checking Windermere Hope which raced wide as a result. Kristerin and Have No Fear collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight, checking Have No Fear. Windermere Hope checked off Orson's Touch in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to and issued warnings to attendant, Mr David Scott and Shepparton Kennel Supervisor, Mr Les Harris regarding the unauthorised and incorrect removal of a greyhound from its kennel prior to racing.
