Steward's Report
Princess Vegas and Tiggerlong Rebel collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Cornhill Tiger, Starchie and East Street collided approaching the first turn checking Starchie. Princess Vegas and East Street collided on the first turn. Starchie raced wide entering the home straight. Speaking Spanish visibly eased in the home straight.
Starchie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
The representative of Speaking Spanish, Ms. Paula Boots declined to have the greyhound vetted.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Paula Boots, the representative of Speaking Spanish regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Speaking Spanish was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Boots pleaded guilty to the charge, Speaking Spanish was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
