Blazing Joe was slow to begin.
Swifty and White Nikita collided on the first turn checking White Nikita. Blazing Joe contacted the running rail on the first turn. Jab contacted the running rail approaching the home turn. Frothy's Bradman checked off Nicolson Bale on the home turn. Moonlight Kiss and Frothy's Bradman collided on several ocassions in the home straight. Swifty and Moraine Suzie collided in the home straight checking Moraine Suzie. Frothy's Bradman checked off Moonlight Kiss approaching the winning post. Jab turned its head outwards and marred Moraine Suzie approaching the winning post checking Moraine Suzie.
Blazing Joe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg abraded carpal stopper. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Jab underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg carpal sprain wrist injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Glenn Petrie, the trainer of Jab regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Jab was charged with marring. Mr Petrie pleaded guilty to the charge, Jab was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
