Steward's Report
All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 24 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Spartan Flame, Reservior Frank and Ocean Beast were slow to begin.
Spartan Flame and Reservior Frank collided soon after the start. Spartan Flame checked off Letter To You soon after the start. Spartan Flame crossed in approaching the 250m mark checking Down Under Boy. Letter To You and Ocean Beast collided approaching the 150m mark. Down Under Boy and Aston Illusion collided several times at the 150m mark checking Aston Illusion. Spartan Flame lost ground at the 150m mark.
Spartan Flame underwent a veterinary examination examination and was re-examined following race 3. Spartan Flame was found to have a right deltoid injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Down Under Boy - winner of the event.
