Steward's Report

Esther Bale - Late scratching at 13:10pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a spider bite.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Ms Jennifer Thorpe requested an early race endorsement for Another Vendetta.  The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on-track veterinarian.  Another Vendetta will compete in early races until further notice.

Spanish Miss and Aston Edwin were quick to begin.  Compton Amy and Another Vendetta were slow to begin.

Another Vendetta and Broady Lights collided soon after the start.  Spanish Miss checked off Aston Edwin on the first turn.  Compton Amy visibly eased on the second turn.

Aston Edwin underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Kyle Brooks regarding the racing manners of Aston Edwin in the home straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr Brooks, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued.

Compton Amy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to representative, Mr David Knocker regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Compton Amy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Knocker pleaded guilty to the charge, Compton Amy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
