This event was delayed by one minute due to operational issues.
Aston Merit was quick to begin. Nyah Nyah Flyer was slow to begin.
Aston Lamont and Hannele Bale collided soon after the start. Ephemeral faulted approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Nyah Nyah Flyer and Ephemeral collided on the first turn. Runaway Miss and Raichu collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Nyah Nyah Flyer.
Ephemeral underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr Harrison Goss, the representative of Ephemeral regarding its performance approaching the first turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Ephemeral must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
