Steward's Report
Kraken Candy was quick to begin.
Lights Action and Kraken Candy collided on the first turn checking Kraken Candy. Lights Action visibly eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight. Lights Action and Spitfire Striker collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post.
Lights Action underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Ms Michelle Mallia regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home striaght. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Lights Action was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge, Lights Action was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Spitfire Striker underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Geoff Mitchell regarding the racing manners of Spitfire Sriker. After hearing evidence from Mr Mitchell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
