All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.6 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Mediator and Diversify collided soon after the start checking Mediator.  Rust Bucket and Diversify collided approaching the first turn checking Rust Bucket.  Our Boy and Rust Bucket collided on the first turn checking Our Boy.  Rust Bucket and Diversify collided on the first turn checking Diversify. Panadero Warrior clipped the heels of Mediator on the home turn, Panadero Warrior fell as a result checking Rust Bucket.

Panadero Warrior underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.

Pursuant to GAR 104(6) lure driver, Mr. Ben Rogers did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Strange Boat.

All In Cash was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Moon Dragon clipped the heels of Rattling Rosie on the first turn checking All In Cash, severely checking Moon Dragon, Spenser Franklin and Strange Boat.  Moon Dragon and Spenser Franklin collided approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. 

It was noted that the muzzle of Hardaway Gwennie became dislodged during the running of the event.

Spenser Franklin underwent a post race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer and was found to have a spike wound and partial split webbing on the left hind foot.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Lektra Sarah went up with the lids at box rise.  Jebrynah Sol, Turtle Fernando, Lektra Sarah and Big Braveheart collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds.  Turtle Fernando and Worldwide collided on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Shanlyn Bear.

Off Centre and Zella Bale collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Spring Hondo clipped the heels of Charlott’s Blaze on the first turn checking Charlott’s Blaze, severely checking Zella Bale and Spring Hondo.

Stewards lifted the GRV Hot Weather Policy following this event as the outside temperature dropped below 25 degrees.

A pre-race sample was taken from Confer.

Winkcup Bale crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Wild One Mikado.  Confer galloped on Winkcup Bale on the first turn checking Confer.  Dry Lightning and Confer collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Winkcup Bale, Mr. Blue Sky, Dry Lightning and Confer collided on the home turn checking all four greyhounds.  Dry Lightning turned its head inwards and visibly eased in the home straight.

Dry Lightning underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right chest muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Aaron Debattista regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Dry Lightning was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Debattista pleaded guilty to the charge, Dry Lightning was found guilty and and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

My Believer underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left shin, right triangle muscle and both quadriceps. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Sean Van Taarling regarding the racing manners of My Believer in the home straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr. Van Taarling, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Stewards conferred with the judge regarding the margin and finishing times for 4th and 5th place between Dry Lightning and Confer. A clear margin of a nose was visible in the photo finish image with the actual finish time for Dry Lightning being 26.2056 compared to 26.2060 for Confer. However, as Fasttrack is limited to three decimal places, both times were automatically rounded to 26.206 and as such no margin is displayed in Fasttrack.

Elite Bullet was quick to begin.  My Boy Charlott and Elite Bullet collided on the first turn checking Drop A Line, My Boy Charlott, Elite Bullet and Deadly Class.  Buster Harley clipped the heels of Malafon entering the home straight.

A post race sample was taken from Malafon - winner of the event.

Slippery Mouse stumbled approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result.

Uncle’s Girl, Russian Berry and Little Tiger collided on the first turn checking Uncles Girl.

Russian Berry underwent a post race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer and was found to have an elevated temperature and an injured right fibula and right triangle muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Freya Bale was quick to begin.

Kasemi clipped the heels of Luca’s Jebrynah on the first turn checking Kasemi.  Luca’s Jebrynah, Distinguish and Bus Driver collided on the first turn checking Distinguish.

Malo Magic, Jayville Menace and Garçon collided on the first turn checking Malo Magic, severely checking Mercury Icon and Jayville Menace.

Just Admit It and Dusty Country were slow to begin.  Crazy Old Fool and Jagger’s Lady collided on the first turn.
