Steward's Report
Kanji Giant was slow to begin.
Gold Symbol and Grace's Spirit collided soon after the start. Grace's Spirit and Kanji Giant collided soon after the start. Grace's Spirit checked off Fireweed approaching the first turn. Gold Symbol, Zambora Alani and Dr. Xander collided on the first turn, causing Zambora Alani to fall as a result. Lala Ivory, Fireweed and Gold Symbol collided on the first turn. Lala Ivory and Gold Symbol collided approaching the third turn. Fireweed and Grace's Spirit collided on the home turn. Grace's Spirit turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Zambora Alani underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hock injury and right foreleg split webbing. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Grace's Spirit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness to the left foreleg and a right foreleg webbing injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. B. Pursell regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Grace's Spirit was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Pursell pleaded guilty to the charge and Grace's Spirit must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
