Steward's Report
All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
Kennels closed approximately 5 minutes after the advertised time due to the late arrival of Mr S. Hanning. Stewards accepted Mr Hanning's explanation for the late arrival of his two greyhounds.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Baffling, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
Riverdale Poppy and Aston Laurent were slow to begin.
Another Brother and Tinker Murphy collided on the first turn checking Tinker Murphy. Aston Laurent checked off Tinker Murphy entering the home straight. Another Brother marred Baffling in the home straight.
Another Brother underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr K Howat regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Another Brother was charged with marring. Mr Howat pleaded guilty to the charge, Another Brother is now suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
