All persons attending today checked-in, wore face-masks indoors and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

Mr. Fitty – Late scratching at 2:43 pm under GAR 37(4) on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian after the greyhound was found to be infested with fleas.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance stating the condition no longer exists before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Dunkeld Lass, Aston Carey and Lektra Asha were quick to begin.  Primed was slow to begin (3L).

Crackerjack Pop and Weipa collided soon after the start.  Aston Carey and My Name's Karen collided approaching the first turn.  Aston Carey and Dunkeld Lass collided on the first turn; checking Dunkeld Lass; causing Dunkeld Lass and My Name's Kare to collide, severely checking both greyhounds; causing Dunkeld Lass to visably ease and turn its head out towards My Name's Karen.  Weipa, Primed and Dunkeld Lass collided on the home turn.  Primed crossed to the rail in the home straight, checking Weipa.  

Dunkeld Lass underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right hindleg pencil/whip injuries; a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mrs Heather Baxter regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Dunkeld Lass was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs Baxter pleaded guilty to the charge, Dunkeld Lass was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
