Steward's Report
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 3 minutes to allow track staff to carry out remedial works on the track surface following a malfunction with the sprinkler system.
Smooth Talker was slow to begin. Will Do was checked off Sovereign Wind approaching the first turn. Lockwood Lad was checked off Will Do on the second turn, faltered and subsequently tailed off. Dinkydi Asset and Sovereign Wind collided on the home turn.
Lockwood Lad underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right back muscle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
