Ferocious Caitty was quick to begin. Lektra Rodney and Lightning Loki were slow to begin.
Lektra Rodney, Unakite and Lightning Loki collided soon after the start. Rule The Galaxy, Stay Together and Unakite collided approaching the first turn. Our Girl Harriet checked off Stay Together approaching the first turn; causing Our Girl Harriet to contact the running rail. Unakite and Water Dragon collided on the first turn, checking Water Dragon. Unakite checked off Stay Together on the home turn. Lektra Rodney galloped on the heels of Stay Together entering the home straight.
Our Girl Harriet underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Rule The Galaxy underwent a post–race veterinary examination after the greyhound escaped the catching pen following the event and was found to have a left hindleg thigh injury. A five day stand down period was imposed.
