Sugar Plum Fairy was quick to begin. Zippy Artist and Prince Nangana were slow to begin. Run Topper and Zippy Artist collided approaching the first turn checking Zippy Artist. Flamin' Sam faltered on the first turn and fell as a result. Run Topper and Zippy Artist collided entering the home straight.
Flamin' Sam underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Sugar Plum Fairy - the winner of the event.
