Gypsy Yankee and Fortuna Bale collided approaching the first turn. Quintana Bale and Mepunga Mustang collided on the first turn checking Mepunga Mustang who contacted the running rail, lost considerable ground and tailed off. Rodeo Ethics checked off Fortuna Bale approaching the home turn.
Mepunga Mustang underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
