Gotham Baroness was slow to begin. Deep Witts and Amlin Emperor collided approaching the first turn. Red Spur Flyer and Zelko Spolly collided approaching the first turn checking Zelko Spolly. Red Spur Flyer was checked off Amlin Emperor on the first turn. Weeona Jack was checked off Gotham Baroness on the first turn. Deep Witts and Amlin Emperor collided approaching the home turn. Rapid Voyage, Weeona Jack and Thunder King collided on the home turn. Zelko Spolly and Thunder King collided in the home straight. Zelko Spolly marred Thunder King in the home straight.
Zelko Spolly underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Spoljaric, the trainer of Zelko Spolly regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zelko Spolly was charged with marring. Mr. Spoljaric pleaded guilty to the charge, Zelko Spolly was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
