Due to the track inspection by stewards following race 2, the start of this race was delayed by approximatly 10 minutes.
Warringah Bale and Shima Pearl collided approaching the first turn. Barbella's Image and Al's Shout collided approaching the first turn checking Barbella's Image. Warringah Bale and Al's Shout collided approaching the first turn. Taylen Bale and Shima Pearl collided on the first turn. Beatrix Bale and Runaway Miss collided on the first turn. Warringah Bale and Al's Shout collided on the first turn. Jovi Bale checked off Beatrix Bale approaching the home turn. Warringah Bale and Al's Shout collided approaching the home turn. Jovi Bale visibly eased approaching the home turn, colliding with Beatrix Bale, checking Barbella's Image and Runaway Miss, severely checking Beatrix Bale. Al's Shout and Runaway Miss collided entering the home straight.
Jovi Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr G. Dailly, the handler of Jovi Bale regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Jovi Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Jovi Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
