Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Oh Donna – Late scratching at 3:07pm when Mr Peter Craig reported the greyhound to have an injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Poppy’s Boy, Majestic Jay, Mt. View Gem and Kysaiah were slow to begin. Majestic Jay and Mt. View Gem collided soon after the start checking Majestic Jay. Mt. View Gem contacted the running rail on the first turn and subsequently fell. Extra Hot Emily and Gotham Diva collided on the first turn.
Mt. View Gem underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right shin and right hind toe. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from High Jewel - winner of the event.
There was no head on vision of the back straight for this event.
