Steward's Report
Tzar's Ghost and Compton Lucy were slow to begin.
Lead The Way and Tiggerlong Nibel collided on the first turn. Papalia Bale and Tiggerlong Nibel collided on the first turn. Papalia Bale marred Tiggerlong Nibel on the first turn. Papalia Bale, Tiggerlong Nibel, Tali Tails and Wilson's Way collided entering the front straight, severely checking Tali Tails. Papalia Bale turned its head outwards in the front straight. Tzar's Ghost, Tiggerlong Nibel and Compton Lucy collided on the second turn. Wilson's Way turned its head outwards approaching the third turn checking Papalia Bale. Wilson's Way checked off Lead The Way in the home straight.
Papalia Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Shane Drummond, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn and in the front straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1), Papalia Bale was charged with marring. Mr. Drummond pleaded guilty to the charge and Papalia Bale was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Wilson's Way underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Gerard O'Keeffe regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1), Wilson's Way was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. O'Keeffe pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
