Steward's Report
Trainer, Mr Craig Treherne who had three runners Moon Over Mexico (box 1), Elusive Flyer (7) and Rosebud Smile (8) engaged in the event, advised Stewards that Rosebud Smile had been sold and subsequently withdrawn from the event. This resulted in Elusive Fly being afforded a vacant box to its outside. Stewards accepted Mr Treherne's explanation.
A pre-race sample was taken from Moon Over Mexico.
Madlenka was quick to begin. Rahela Bale was slow to begin. Elusive Fly turned in the boxes and was very slow to begin (4L).
Moon Over Mexico and Jonas collided soon after the start. Perpetuate and Rahela Bale collided approaching the first turn. Jonas and Blue Entourage collided approaching the home turn.
Elusive Fly underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg hamstring injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed. Elusive Fly – Turned in the boxes and was very slow to begin. Placed on a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 52(1), pursuant to GAR 72.
