Steward's Report
Midoriyama and Let's Trot were quick to begin. Midnight Snooze and Loxton Bale were slow to begin.
Write About Her, Oseye Bale, Midnight Snooze and Loxton Bale collided in the front straight checking Oseye Bale and Midnight Snooze. Write About Her checked off Loxton Bale on the first turn and raced wide. Let's Trot and Loxton Bale collided approaching the second turn and again on third turn checking both greyhounds. Let's Trot, Oseye Bale and Loxton Bale collided approaching the home turn checking Let's Trot. Let's Trot and Loxton Bale collided in the home straight.
Let's Trot underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the left and right hind legs and right hind foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the Trainer, Mr Gerry Orr regarding the greyhound's racing manner approaching the second turn. After hearing evidence from Mr. Orr, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
A post-race sample was taken from Midoriyama - winner of the event.
