Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Tango Temptation and Tweet It Sweet were quick to begin.
Mad Captain and Tweet It Sweet collided approaching the first turn. Mad Captain visably eased on the first turn and approaching the home turn. Mad Captain marred Tweet It Sweet entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Mad Captain marred Tango Temptation to a stand still in the home straight.
Tango Temptation underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right hindleg toe, cervico-thoracic and right hindleg back muscle injuries. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Mad Captain underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Shayne Fisher, the trainer of Mad Captain regarding the greyhound’s racing manners throughout the running of this event. Due to the severity of the incident and acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mad Captain was charged with marring. Mr Fisher pleaded guilty to the charge, Mad Captain was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mad Captain – Was ordered to wear an anti–aggression muzzle in all future events in accordance with GAR 71A.
